This Christmas, I received some notable gifts from my friends and family that I thought I would share with you guys!
This is by far one of my favorite gifts: a Ninjago bracelet!
I have been looking for Ninjago themed jewelry for a while, and when I found this, I immediately loved it. It currently occupies a permanent place on my wrist. WhiteIslandSnow has an entire Etsy shop of awesome fandom merchandise! I like almost everything! I’ll probably be buying more Ninjago stuff from there again…
Speaking of Ninjago-themed merchandise, my parents got me this green hoodie!
Now I can pretend I’m Lloyd with an awesome hoodie! I decided to make it look like this but on a hoodie. Like a mix of Movie Lloyd and Show Lloyd.
With the help of my aunt, who has a Cricut, I placed a vinyl iron-on like in the reference picture, but I used Lloyd’s Zukin symbol on it instead, because my family wasn’t really a fan of Lloyd’s dragon symbol. I am so excited to wear it!!! The hoodie fits well and is comfy, and the logo on the back makes it complete.
I received a Sakura Decorese for my ink drawings. I make a lot of mistakes (especially around the eyes), so this will definitely help and add nice highlights! It’s comparable to a Sakura Gelly Roll.
The Decorese is a bright white. According to my sister, it’s more like a paint pen than a gel pen. This is because it releases more ink than a Gelly Roll. The Decorese is also wider than a Gelly Roll.
Here’s a comparison of the Decorese to the Gelly Roll.
The Decorese is on the right and the Gelly Roll on the left.
As you can see, both inks appear brightly on all three test subjects. The fourth square tests how well the inks match the white of the paper. Of course, paper whiteness will vary. I tested mine on Canson Marker Paper so that the alcohol wouldn’t soak through.
The Decorese is a little off on the Marker Paper, but the Gelly Roll blends in well and wouldn’t be very noticeable if used to cover a mistake. The photo makes the Gelly Roll more evident, but in real life, it’s not that visible.
All in all, both pens are great for highlights or correcting.
My kind aunt gave me this book by Chris Hart. Hopefully, with this book, I can finally draw humans that actually look good!
I also got the Heartlake Hospital from Lego. It will occupy a blank space in my Lego town and provide a place for the Ninja to go when they are injured in their fights. I have a unique Lego project that concerns this hospital, but that’s for another post.
Thanks to the family and friends who made this possible, and of course, I can’t end this post without thanking God, the Creator of everything!
