Skrill? Skram!

“The Skrill.” -Hiccup, HTTYD 1, while reading the Book of Dragons

The Skrill is a Strike Class dragon.  Like the Night Fury, it is incredibly rare, powerful, intelligent, and stealthy.  As a Strike Class, it possesses vice-like jaw strength, blazing speed, and pinpoint firepower accuracy.  Known as the only dragon that can go head-to-head with a Night Fury, it is not a dragon you want to mess with.  Unless you’re drawing it, that is.

Hey, guys, I’ve just been working on some dragon sketches.  I draw lots of Night Furies, and thought it would be fun to mix it up a little bit and try a Skrill!  I also may be trying Whispering Deaths or Nadders.  Hideous Zipplebacks might be interesting too.  Or even a Triple Stryke!

The Skrill is my second favorite dragon in the HTTYD franchise.  I like it because he is intelligent, has an awesome wingspan, is fast, and just looks cool.  Also, he belongs in the same class as Toothless!

Anyway, here they are!  photo 1

Hmm… how did that Night Fury get in there?  Sneaky Strike Class!

I really like this dragon!  I’m just saddened by the fact that it’s so hard to find good Skrill references.  Everybody has images of Toothless, partly since he’s one of the main characters and partly because everybody loves him.  Unfortunately, Toothless’s fellow Strike Class is not as widely recognized.  Still, the few fanarts I’ve found are pretty awesome.

Well, I’ve got to go now.  There are more WIPS to be completed, including the promised but way in the future graphite Yoda.  Chinesebun out!
